Yahoo lehnt Microsoft's Angebot ab

Jetzt ist es offiziell: Der Internetriese Yahoo hat das Übernahmeangebot des Software-Giganten Microsoft in Höhe von $ 44.6 Milliarden abgelehnt. In der Medienmitteilung von Yahoo von heute Morgen steht:

After careful evaluation, the Board believes that Microsoft’s proposal substantially undervalues Yahoo! including our global brand, large worldwide audience, significant recent investments in advertising platforms and future growth prospects, free cash flow and earnings potential, as well as our substantial unconsolidated investments. The Board of Directors is continually evaluating all of its strategic options in the context of the rapidly evolving industry environment and we remain committed to pursuing initiatives that maximize value for all stockholders. 

Analysten halten ein höheres Angebot Microsoft für denkbar. Doch laut Spiegel prüft Yahoo im Moment auch Allianzen mit AOL, Google oder Disney, um das Übernahmeangebot von Microsoft abzuwehren.

So wie es aussieht, spielt Yahoo auf Zeit. Doch egal wie hoch das finale Übernahmeangebot auch immer ausfällt, das letzte Wort werden die Aktionäre von Yahoo haben.
